more Excellent today

Early this morning, all trails were dragged and tracks reset.   The tower loop in Churning rapids was much improved on with the dragging and now less bowl shaped.  Sorry for no photos, but I forgot my camera in the snowmobile today.   Let me know if you'd like photos, to be posted here on a regular bases.

Excellent continues.

Colin was out early this morning and refreshed all trails.  Excellent conditions remain for all of them.

They should be firm from the dragging done Saturday, for excellent phat biking as well.

Better than excellent conditions?

This morning all trails were dragged with the snow we received overnight.  For our phat biking members, doing this will stiffen the surface up very nicely for you.  These photos will say more than my simple words.  It's above and beyond, excellent conditions out there.

Freezing rain? No problem for getting back to excellent!

The warm temps and freezing rain we had yesterday was no problem for getting our system back to excellent this morning.  The snow we rolled in last night and this morning did the trick.   Photos say it all.

The wind is blowing so exposed area's, may get filled in.

As excellent as can be.

With this new snow, the gorge is back to its normal gorgeous.

This is on the reopened Outback trail.  You should get out there and see it, if you've not yet

Few new tracks made, late today

With the fresh snow received over the day, right at dust, new tracks were made on City side, Gorge, Vista and the River trail north of Tomasi RD.  Over night and in the wee hours, everything will be rolled and new tracks made.

Despite the wind, it was still beautiful out there.

And our favorite little creek, remains the prettiest one in the Keweenaw!!

Day off from grooming fun!

With the snow engine shut down, we're taking the "day off" the trails and repairing machines.  These snow implements live a hard live and require much maintenance.   Our goal is to have them in top shape to keep them working their best when the snow kicks back on.

Colin is doing repairs to the main roller.  We have two.

New skags, to keep the Skandic going in the right direction.

Monday dragged into Excellent!

Early this morning all trails were drug and tracks reset.  The wind is really howling so some area's with be blown back in.   Sorry about that.  Nonetheless, all trails are now excellent again.
This is what we see in the wee hours.

The trees are losing there snow-load and making a mess of the trails!

We had to drag this smooth. Its likely we'll stay off the trails until Thursday am. 
We will be in the shop, doing equipment repairs, during our "time off"
