Drilling in the field at the fairgrounds.

Coleman Engineering will be operating a drilling unit along the fence
line but in the field, just north of the fairgrounds.  They're doing soil
samples for a pole-line moving project slated for this summer.    This
should only take a few days but everyone needs to keep away from their
machinery while they're out there.
Thanks!

Just a file photo, not their unit.

Cooling down from Excellent.

Today most trails were drug, tracks reset and made Excellent again.
This afternoon the wind picked up and was blowing them back in. :-(
See below for a Mud Lake (trail #4) report.
Because of the cool temps we'll not be grooming on Wednesday.
Normal operations will resume on Thursday.

This is how nice they looked this morning.

The sun came out which helped my photography skills :-)..

Hope everyone was able to ski before the wind picked up.

Then in the afternoon we drug this fresh snow in on Mud lake trail #4.

It did smooth them up very nicely.

But new slash was pulled up as well.  Much of it was thrown off the trail.

Hopefully more snow will arrive and we'll roll it again.

Warming into excellent.

We got Churning Rapids and the trails that lead out there drug today, then reset tracks everywhere. The wind was still blowing the snow around some but hopefully they'll remain excellent. Photos show what we did.
Today one of our tow machines quit and was moved into the repair shop.  Hopefully you'll not notice any difference and we get it back ASAP.

Oh ya!

In the dam meadow.

In our favorite gorge.

This is what we strive to create.

Saturday's skier report.

Trails, creek and people as seen out there Saturday afternoon.

We headed upstream along the creek from Tomasi RD.

The Aitamaa's from Stevens Point.

They love the trail's like we do.

We checked the growing snow mushrooms out.

This tree has been coming down this winter
and the Rhino might not fit under it anymore.

We bumped into Chris!

Plus we seen many, many other people out here today.

Smoothy Saturday!

Early today a few trails were drug, then all tracks were reset. Just ask if anyone cares to hear why?? I'd have drug more but with my cohort off, no time.  We received more snow than NOAA had predicted yesterday but they all look really, really nice now.  Of course excellent.

With the use of a drag, our trails are now very smooth and more fun to ski.

Do you know where this shot was taken??

Trail 1 near the chalet.

Trail 3 or the River trail.

Bonus photo! Of a few snow mushrooms on the creek.   Please buy a pass and get out to see and ski them all!

Less cool weather means more perfect trails!

NOAA predicted snow starting at noon and lessening by three and like clockwork, that's just what happened today.   My cohort is on vacation so I started at noon so as to have everything groomed when the snow ended.   Gorge was drug and everything now has fresh tracks.
Trails are again perfect.

Pictures say it all.

Which trail is this? :-)

Just what we like to see.

This tad of fresh we got worked in beautifully.

Ken says, "This is great!"

See ya later....  As the snow came down.

No grooming today or on Thursday.

No grooming today or on Thursday due to the low temps and windchill.

Normal operations will resume on Friday.  Sorry for any inconvenience but we do worry about having an unforeseen machine failure while out there.....

Trail update deluxe (with photos)

Today we drug Churning Rapids and reset tracks everywhere and after doing that, they looked quite nice again.   Trails remain excellent.  Photos taken today are below.

Special announcement: Tomasi RD is now being groomed but does have
chucks of ice and even some gravel showing.  It will improve as more
snow falls.

With Dan's logging operation around Mud Lake now done, today we groomed
our way around to see how, or even if we could, reopen a trail around
it again this year.  This would be trail 4 that connects the top of Side-winder to Churning Rapids.  Photos of today's operation are at the bottom.

Just right!

Nice to see the sun.

Just what we like to see!

Now some real work begins.  Seen here is opening of the gate

Here comes Sam!

We rolled it twice.

This is how it looked after that was done.

Not seen here are the large trees (slash) we had to pull off the trail via Rhino and chain.  It was quite a mess!  Snow out there is quite low because the loggers had been pushing it off.  If we get more we'll be back to drag and smooth it out some and hopefully make some tracks.
