The Tomasi Trail Head

It was a sunny 40 degrees as we set foot on the Tomasi Trailhead this morning. For little boys, the trail head itself is a treat; seeing the progress of the storage shed, inspecting the grooming equipment, finding our location on the big map, and anticipating a chance to chat with Mr. Arlyn.

There is a comfortable familiarity we have with this trail, and as we started our usual route towards Pine Loop before cutting down to the River Trail, a woodpecker greeted us, tapping away in the trees above.

The call of the creek rushing over its rocky bottom is an attractive lure, even to the littlest of boys. There were many rocks to discover, sticks to come upon, and even deer tracks to notice as we made our way to Swedetown Creek.
While little legs usually only make it down to the bridge and back hopefully soon we will get a chance to traverse the new River Trail extension. What a wonderful chance to explore new areas along the creek. Perhaps you can have a hand in extending and rerouting this beautiful trail as well?

Some upcoming work days are:Tuesday May 9th, at 9am and
Saturday, May 13th, at  9am
Meet at the Tomasi Trail Head and let Arlyn know you are coming (370-2911 or arlyn.aronson@gmail.com)
