We didn't get much snow overnight and the wind is blowing out there now, so you may find sections drifted over. Nonetheless, everything was drug and new tracks made. Photos say it better than my words can.

Full lot again!
It seems we're having a good year from looking at our parking lot.
Please support the trails and purchase a pass. Our most important source of income is from our trail users. Don't forget to do your part! We strive to make the trails excellent for you, but we wouldn't be able to do that, if users don't support these efforts.

Fresh grooming this Sunday
With the fresh snow that we got over night, all trails were dragged level, then tracks reset. Most are excellent, but some such as under pine trees did not receive as much fresh snow and remain modestly icy, with shallower tracks. All in all a great day to get out!
Hooray for new snow! |
Here you can see that the left side of the trail that was groomed 15 minutes earlier, is starting to get snowed in. |
Going up Sidewinder hill |
For our phat members, the base should be quite firm now. We are the only trails to allow phat bikes everywhere. |
Hope you get out to enjoy! |
Heikenpaiva parade
On Saturday Keweenaw Nordic participated in the Heikenpaiva parade. We do this each winter. Would you like to join us next year?
While in the line up, we got a close up look at everybody. |
Here we come! |
We showed some of our equipment. |
And banners. |
Don't forget the dogs! Dogs and kids just naturally go together. |
Colin towed the newly improved school drag, placed on the dolly. |
One of the nicer Heikenpaiva's we remember! |

Excellent goes on and on!
The modest snow we received was drug in and tracks made everywhere. It can't get any better than this. I couldn't resist taking many photos of it and posted just a few. Of course everything is excellent.
The trails should be firm enough for excellent phat biking as well.
Oh yes, we do like to see things looking like this. |
It was so, so, so pretty out there early this morning. This is along our favorite creek. |
It's as pretty as a promotional cross country ski advertisement. |
Please support the trails, and purchase a pass. |

Bang! right back to Excellent

Rehabed to mostly excellent
This hardened snow was scratched up via drag and new tracks made. Some areas with a pine canopy did less well. Today we'll call them mostly excellent but some good.

Excellent again and again
This morning, all trails were drug so as to smooth up the drifts we got yesterday. After that, all tracks were made new again. Of course they are excellent. In looking at our current forecast, we may stay off them until Sunday. Stay tuned here for updates!
Very, very nice out there this morning. Dragging them does such a nice job. |
The sun ever made a short appearance. This is on Sidewinder hill. |
Sun came out again while on the Tower loop in Churning Rapids. Nice to see it! |
The grade-school PE class in Hancock will soon be starting up there skiing program again. |

Grooming schedule
Since NOAA predicts that the wind will be blowing today, we'll not be grooming our system. It is likely we'll will be out to refresh things on Thursday morning. Today we'll be in the shop doing maintenance and repairs. We've had two days off of work, since it started to snow in early December. No need to thank your grooming team, but you could make an donation to the club.
Our Capital Campaign could use your support!
